“We need strong regional leadership
to work with communities”
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and taking an interest in changing politics as usual in Maricopa County.
Due to a lack of transparency and leadership, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has forgotten its duty to ensure that the county’s tax dollars are spent appropriately and to plan for the future of our community. Now we are all starting to feel the effects:
Maricopa County residents spend more time on the road commuting than ever before, spending on average almost an hour in traffic gridlock each day.
The American Lung Association gives Maricopa County an 'F' for air quality, which leads to almost 85,000 Arizonans to going to the ER each year for acute upper respiratory infections.
Unchecked groundwater pumping in the East Valley has created fissures in the ground that threaten homes, businesses, and threaten the sustainability of our water supply.
County departments have thrown millions of our taxpayer dollars away on opulent offices, tropical vacations, bloated bureaucracies, wrongful death lawsuits, and other frivolous spending.
Who’s in charge?
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is in charge planning, zoning, air quality, water conservation, and transportation for the fastest growing county in the nation. In all, the County Supervisors oversee a 2.5 billion dollar budget.
We're talking about basic accountability of our tax dollars and the enormous trust we place in these elected officials. I'm running to remind people that these 5 elected Board Members are answerable to you, the taxpayer, and their decisions should be held up to the light of day. That's what I mean by accountability and that's what I plan to bring to this job.
If you have any questions about my experience, leadership, or vision for our community please give me a call at home at 480-783-4862 or contact me by e-mail at Ed@EdHermes.com
